Aerial Guide applicants must be at least 18 years of age prior to their work start date, and have current CPR and First Aid certifications.

The Aerial Operations Assistant Manager is expected to provide positive guest interactions/experiences and to take all precautions and handle trainings to keep our guest and guides prepared for all situations on our various aerial products. This position must also be a key communicator and handle administrative/logistic duties for the aerial operation including: planning, logistics, staff management, hiring, culture, training and many other functions described in detail below.   The Aerial Operations Assistant Manager position is classified as “9/12” in which the Manager works full-time for nine months of the year yet receives a paycheck across all twelve months of the year.  While the position is full-time during the nine working months, the work schedule fluctuates with many weeks exceeding 40 hours and some weeks falling short of 40 hours.

If this sounds like you, we hope you'll apply to join the NOC team.   Job Summary:    Canoe and Kayak Instructors are based at the main campus of the Nantahala Outdoor Center outside of Bryson City, NC. They primarily instruct on nearby rivers and on Lake Fontana; however, they also instruct on various rivers all over the Southeast. Depending on their skill-set and training, instructors can teach novice level up to advanced level paddlers. Additionally, they may specialize in more advanced playboating or creekboating instruction. Many instructors also cross-train as a stand-up paddle (SUP) instructors, Rescue 3 instructors, raft guides and/or lake tour guides.   Instructors must be certified for whitewater instruction through the American Canoe Association (ACA) or equivalent certifying association. Instructors must also possess current CPR and Wilderness First Aid (WFA) certifications. For applicants without these prerequisite certifications, the Nantahala Outdoor Center offers ACA Instructor courses, as well as wilderness medicine courses through SOLO Southeast. To excel in this role, you will have to express a love of people through food and have the culinary skills to prepare meals for a large group.    This is your opportunity to join a group of outdoor individuals living an amazing lifestyle that is packed with adventure.  Our staff guide rafts for work, play on the rivers on their days off, kayak, bike, climb, run and hike all around our beautiful outdoor playground.   If you want to join a family-like community and understand the importance that food plays within it then we encourage you to apply.   This position is seasonal and operates from mid-May to mid-August. On-site, pet free housing is offered to staff for a reasonable cost. Outpost Cooks are expected to work five, eight hour workdays per week and their schedule will be coordinated by the Outpost Management team.   Qualified candidates will be invited to visit in the spring to meet us and show off your culinary skills for our staff.

If this sounds like you, we hope you'll apply to join the NOC team.   JOB SUMMARY:   The Shipping and Receiving Clerk position is a seasonal position that will run from February through October 2018.    The primary functions of the Shipping and Receiving Clerk are to receive incoming FedEx and UPS deliveries, process incoming retail inventory orders accurately and also process outgoing UPS shipments.  The Shipping and Receiving Clerk reports directly to the Store Manager, but receives daily direction from the Shipping and Receiving Specialist. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is expected to be highly organized and must have a strong attention to detail, ensuring that retail orders are processed accurately and efficiently.
