Busser/Dishwashers play a key role in our restaurant operations at NOC. This position works primarily in River’s End Restaurant, but depending on interest, availability and qualification, they may also have the opportunity to work in other restaurant positions. This is a great opportunity for anyone that is looking to enjoy western North Carolina, since it balances a full schedule with time off to enjoy the surrounding area. Bussers and Dishwashers that excel in their position also have the opportunity for advancement within the restaurants. During your time with us it can be expected that you will participate in both rolls. An example of this is scheduling. One week you may be scheduled to wash dishes and the next you may be scheduled to bus tables. This type of schedule will alternate at management’s discretion through the summer season.


DISHWASHER - This is a seasonal position and Dishwashers report to the BOH management staff. NOC is looking to hire Dishwashers for the remainder of the summer season and into the fall.


BUSSER - This is a seasonal position, tipped position and Bussers report to the BOH management staff. NOC is looking to hire Bussers for the remainder of the summer season and into the fall. Bussers will typically work either morning shifts or closing shifts. 



  • Clear and wash all guest serving items, including utensils, dishes and cups
  • Clean cooking and preparation utensils and dishes
  • Maintain a clean work station
  • Follow proper closing procedures
  • Take proper care of all restaurant equipment
  • Assist Servers and/or Management teams by rotating clean dishes to each station
  • Assist the Back of House and/or Management teams as needed
  • Other restaurant-related tasks, as assigned




  • Clear used dishes, utensils, bottles, and trash from tables in a timely manner
  • Clean and re-set tables
  • Assist guests with special seating arrangements or needs, such as moving tables, chairs, and high chairs for small children
  • Promote to guests the adventures that NOC has to offer, and provide local area information and/or directions as needed
  • Assist the Servers and/or Management teams by rotating ice to each station, as well as other restaurant-related tasks as assigned
  • Assist host as needed
  • Responsible for side work, including, but not limited to: dusting, upkeep of the bathroom, stocking product, sweeping, mopping, cleaning windows, filling brochure racks, knocking down spider webs
  • Other duties as assigned


Applicants must:

  • Understand health code standards and restaurant cleanliness
  • Function well as a team player
  • Take direction well and have the ability to work independently
  • Understand the flow of restaurant operations
  • Be willing to step in and assist Servers with additional tasks during high volume
  • Be courteous and respectful


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment
  • Dishwashers must be able to lift 50lbs; Bussers must be able to lift 30lbs
  • Comfortable working in a hot back of house kitchen environment
  • Must be comfortable standing for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to climb up and down stairs
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, twist and climb ladders
