    Job Summary: 

     

    Join our team as a Cook at Relia's Garden in the beautiful Nantahala Gorge. Relia's serves many of our on-site groups and is also the location of our staff meal plan. We are looking to hire a Cook for the afternoon/night shift for the remainder of our summer season and employment will extend into the fall.

     

    In some cases, cooks may be able to work at multiple restaurants, or cross-train to work in other NOC departments as well. All Cook applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have reliable transportation. 

    Responsibilities

    • Complete productivity report on a daily basis
    • Collect money, punch meal plan cards and complete payroll deduction forms
    • Stock and control food portions
    • Maintain a clean dining area by wiping down tables, floors, hot bar and salad bar
    • Ensure cups, plates, napkins and silverware are stocked and available
    • Prepare and complete pack-out meals for the following day
    • Stock salad bar and sandwich cooler at the end of the day
    • Weigh and log food waste
    • Empty trash cans and wipe workspace with bleach
    • Sweep and mop dining area
    • Perform closing duties

    Qualifications

     

    • Function as a team player, take direction and work efficiently toward set goals
    • Comfortable working on their feet for as long as eight-hour shifts and also have flexible availability
    • Professional attitude and presence
    • Trustworthy, punctual and responsible
    • Self-motivated to sustain productive work

     

    NOC Food and Beverage operations primarily hire seasonally for the summer months, with occasional need for shoulder season or year-round employees.

     

     

    Preferred Education and Experience:

    •  Previous experience as a Cook required. 1-2 years experience is preferable.
    •  ServSafe certification preferred but not required.
