JOB SUMMARY:

 

The Deck Reservation Supervisor is a seasonal position and in this position you will primarily work in the Adventure Center, located along the banks of the beautiful Nantahala River. In this role, the Deck Reservations Supervisor will engage in and oversee the process of greeting guests as they arrive for their adventure, taking day-of reservations, checking guests in, accepting payment, and answering questions on the area and all NOC adventure activities. This position is responsible for the daily scheduling and operations of Deck Reservationists and diffusing any issues that may arise. 

 

 

Preferred availability of this position is from early May until late August. Must be available on weekdays / weekends and morning / evening shifts not to exceed 40-45 hours a week.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of up to 10 employees including (but not limited to) training, scheduling, performance evaluation and support
  • Be proficient with the Resmark reservation system
  • Be knowledgeable about all NOC products and services and use that knowledge to guide guests during the reservation experience
  • Communicate with the Director of Nantahala Adventures regarding reservation updates and needs
  • Supervise daily workflow of the Adventure Deck
  • Serve as an information resource and coach for staff
  • Maintain high level of guest service and quality control throughout the Adventure Center, including handling guests concerns and praise
  • Keep accurate daily documentation
  • Complete opening and closing tasks as shift dictates, including monitoring of schedule, communication with accounting
  • Serve as a Deck Reservationist as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Superior job performance as a Guest Relations Office Reservationist OR equivalent sales, hospitality, or related experience
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism with superb communication skills and minimal supervision
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Decision-making and troubleshooting ability
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and team building skills
  • Able to direct others and give positive and constructive feedback in a timely, supportive manner
  • Organized and able to multi-task while remaining calm in a fast paced environment
  • Understanding of and commitment to the confidentiality required by this position
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to speak clearly and concisely

 

Preferred Education and Experience: 

  • Previous experience in a guest relations office, call center, or in pursuit of sales, hospitality or management career
  • High School Diploma

 

Tools, Equipment & Conditions: 

  • Open air office position on the bank of the Nantahala River
  • Daily use of computer, phone and other office equipment
