Job Summary:

Nantahala Outdoor Center photos associates work primarily in the Photo Finish at NOC’s main campus on the Nantahala River. NOC river outposts may occasionally hire additional photo staff; those job openings will be posted separately.


  • Helping guests locate and view their Mountain Top Zip Line and Nantahala River rafting photos at the Photo Finish
  • Providing photo format and pricing information
  • Completing credit card and cash sales transactions for photos and retail items
  • Communicating with guests about local area information, other NOC activities and offerings, and trip information
  • Providing top-notch guest service to all guests
  • Photographing NOC rafts and private crafts as they run Nantahala Falls rapid on the Nantahala, upon successful completion of NOC photography training


  • Applicants for a photos position at NOC should have great communication skills, a strong sense of guest service, and be enthusiastic about sharing outdoor activities with others. Applicants should enjoy working in a team setting, take direction well, and be able to work independently. Prior experience with customer service and/or sales is ideal, but not required.
  • NOC Photos primarily hires seasonally for the summer months, with occasional need in the shoulder season (spring and fall).
  • Ability to sit and stand for long period of time.
