    Summary:

    Servers for the Nantahala Outdoor Center work primarily in River’s End Restaurant which is adjacent to the Nantahala River. Our meals and your service helps to round out our guest’s day. We have adventurous guests with hearty appetites and you can be part of this atmosphere. Depending on availability, qualification and interest, Servers may also have the opportunity to work in other aspects of the Food and Beverage operation, or in other departments. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. 

     

    Servers are hired seasonally for the summer months with the occassional need for shoulder season or year-round employment. Servers are required to have weekend and holiday availability as well as be available to work morning, day or evening shifts as needed and outlined by management. 

     

    Responsibilities

    • Take and serve food and drink orders to NOC guests in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment
    • Coordinate with back-of-house for food orders
    • Provide information to guests on menu items, food and drink specials, and meal ingredients as needed
    • Handle cash and credit card transactions with guests
    • Promote to guests the adventures that NOC has to offer, and providing local area information as needed
    • Complete side work and front of house duties as outlined by the manager on duty
    • Assist other members of the Food and Beverage team as needed

    Qualifications

    Applicants for a server position at NOC should have great customer service and communication skills, function as a team player, take direction and work independently. They must have an understanding of the flow of restaurant operations, and must be comfortable working on their feet for as long as eight-hour shifts. Servers must be able to speak clearly and concisely.

     

     

    Required Education or Experience desired:

     

    We would prefer at least one year/season of waiting experience, but it is not required.
