    Job Summary:


    Help our guests find the best riverside seat! Host/Cashiers for the Nantahala Outdoor Center work primarily in River’s End Restaurant or Big Wesser BBQ and Brew. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.



    • Greet and seat guests in a professional and timely manner
    • Handle special needs, waitlists, and table assignments
    • Ring up food sales and handling a cash drawer
    • Promote to guests the adventures that NOC has to offer, and providing local area information and/or directions, as needed
    • Maintain and supervise front-of-house cleanliness and bathrooms
    • Assist the serving and/or management teams as needed
    • Complete side work and front of house duties as outlined by the manager on duty


    Applicants for a host/hostess position at NOC should have great communication skills, a strong understanding of customer service, function as a team player, take direction and work independently. They must have a thorough understanding of the flow of restaurant operations, and be knowledgeable about regular menu items as well as food and drink specials. Applicants must be comfortable working on their feet for as long as eight-hour shifts.


    NOC Food and Beverage operations primarily hire seasonally for the summer months, with occasional need for shoulder season or year-round employees.



    Required Education or Experience desired:


    One year/season experience preferred.
